 If you're like us here at Aralake Dog Training, you love your dog and s/he has become part of the family. However, in order for your dog
to continue to be a welcome member of your family, it is very important that s/he be taught basic manners
and house rules, as well as basic obedience as early as possible to avoid developing behavioral problems and bad habits.
That's where we come in! The mission of Aralake Dog Training is to cultivate a quality lifelong relationship between you and your dog by enabling you to communicate effectively with your dog using positive reinforcement dog training methods. We have found that positive reinforcement yields the most favorable and consistent behavioral results from a dog, and fosters an attitude in the dog of being willing and eager to please, as opposed to having a fear of punishment. We also emphasize the need for you to be in tune with your dog's natural communication system, and teach proper use of body language, hand signals, voice tone, and verbal commands to communicate with your dog. Fun Extras: - Birthday Gift Certificate - Upon completion of a 6-Session Package,
each year your pup will receive a gift certificate on his/her birthday
for a complimentary gift session that can be used as a refresher or to
work on more advanced obedience.
- Dog Days - Periodic half-day field trips to local hiking spots
around the L.A. and Orange county areas, which will begin with a mini
training session that will review all commands, followed by a group
hike. Events are open to the general public, however participation in
the mini training session is limited to clients and alumni, but guests
are welcome to observe. This is a great opportunity to practice
commands with the distractions of other dogs in a new locale, as well
as for socializing (both for dogs and owners!), exercise, and just

your dog is too disruptive at an event, we reserve the right to
respectfully ask you to leave and join a future event when your dog has
received some training).
- Annual Catalina Island Dog Day Retreat
- 22 miles across the sea, Santa Catalina is the place for me, for a
full day of dog fun and frivolity! It's a little known fact that dogs
can also ride the Catalina Express,
and so once a year we'll head over as a group, with mini training
sessions mixed into a day of hiking, relaxing, lying on the beach, or
whatever else you want to do on an island with your pup! Visits each
year will alternate between Avalon or Two Harbors.
